Here's a new memorial to the late Pope John Paul II: a cartoon.
A Spanish film company has collaborated with the Vatican to put together a cartoon on the life of the Polish pontiff. The hour-long, multi-lingual DVD titled "John Paul II — Friend of all Humanity" is aimed at families.
"I wanted to capture the intimate side of this pope, who so moved those he encountered," said author and director of the DVD, J.L. Lopez-Guardia of Cavin Cooper Productions.
The Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, who worked closely with the author on the production, said the film is expected to come out before Christmas, and is already ready for distribution in  over 30 countries.
The DVD is divided into two parts.
Part I: Cartoon devoted to Karol Wojtyla's youth and life. Scenes include him playing soccer. Characters are two doves, the pope's pen and diary.
Part II: Documentary telling story of Wojtyla as pope, focusing on his relationship with young people.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
