Did you like Momento? Did you like Batman Begins? Then go see "The Prestige." it's the same director. I'm not even going to review it. Don't read any reviews on it. Go see it and come up with your own opinion. It's worth the price of admission! It's worth the not knowing anything going into it! Is it THAT good? YES! IT! IS!
I kid you not, there was a group of 4 or 6, 60-70 year olds in the theatre I saw it in and a couple of them actually clapped at the end. RARE wouldn't cover it. Just trust me on this one, it's a DAMN good movie.
You know the previews you saw for it?
CRAP. . .Utter crap. the previews don't do it justice. it doesn't cover it. Nothing covers how good this is. Period. Why are you still reading this? GO SEE IT NOW! and PAY ATTENTION!
Ah well, here's the lyrics to the song they play during the end credits;
Analyse - Thom Yorke A self-fulfilling prophecy of endless possibility You roll in reams across the street In algebra, in algebra
The fences that you cannot climb The sentences that do not rhyme In all that you can ever change The one you're looking for
It gets you down It gets you down
There's no spark No light in the dark
It gets you down It gets you down You traveled far What have you found That there's no time There's no time To analyse To think things through To make sense
Like cows in the city, they never looked so pretty By power carts and blackouts Sleeping like babies
It gets you down It gets you down You're just playing a part You're just playing a part
You're playing a part Playing a part And there's no time There's no time To analyse Analyse Analyse
Trust me... Written by 3wiseasses on 2006-10-26 08:48:26 Jared: I understand people don't agree with the whole Nirvana thing, but I do know my movies. And, yes, I'm looking forward to Saw III as well (those movie posters are freakin' awesome!). As for clapping at movies, I agree it's stupid, but it's cool when a film is so good that it inspires it (not The Prestige). Films like Saving Private Ryan and (my personal all-time fav) This is Spinal Tap ... those deserve the applause! | haha! Written by Pikachu on 2006-10-26 07:47:22 People who clap at the end of movies do not rule. They should never rule and if they ever do rule they need to be overthrown. | What!! Written by punkhorror on 2006-10-24 18:31:19 People that clap at the end of movies rule. Have you never seen Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, how moving is that part!! And Jared no offence but you thought Nirvana ruined rock by being down beat and depressing...I will never trust your opinion. I'm sure you are a nice guy but come on. I'm saving my movie going cash for Saw III though so that pretty much negates my taste in movies.
| Too Twisty Written by Pikachu on 2006-10-24 15:09:31 Too many twists at the end kind of made me angry. Plus, I dislike people who clap at the end of a movie! It's not a performance where the actors can hear you. However, I do like Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. It was a good movie, but I do want to see the Illusionist. Jared you're the second person to say it's a really good.
| I beg to disagree Written by 3wiseasses on 2006-10-24 08:17:49 Jared: The audience I saw it with was silent. We were all trying to figure out why nobody can make a good magic movie! > I won't ruin anything in case people want to see it, but using out of time technology is just a cop out! The Illusionist had better acting (but the same tech problem). If you want to see a flick that is incredible. See The Departed. By far the best flick out now (Dono, Dan and I are going to see Flags of our Fathers on Friday, so I might change my mind).

FullMetal Alchemist (48) "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." |

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will.

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
