Janice Wood, NEXTnc office manager, was closing up the office one night when she caught something out of the corner of her eye — an image of a little boy. She quickly turned around, but he was gone. Other staffers have heard voices on several occasions in our office at 400 Remington St. Could it really be haunted? In the spirit of Halloween, we thought it would be fun to consult a psychic.
We turned to none other than the famous singing psychic, Fran Baskerville of Texas.
She instantly began her tune singing, “Well it looks as though I see a little girl named Jenny and I see a little boy named — Boy. Oh oh yeah, hey hey.”
Baskerville continued, saying the siblings were about 8 or 9, lived a hundred years ago and died from a plague. She determined they got ill from drinking the water. “They’re running around and they’ve got a long, long time to go and they’re coming back to get help and find their mom,” she sings.
Her advice was to hold up a cross and tell them to go to the light because they can’t find their way.
Baskerville says she discovered her psychic abilities after a near-death experience. She was hit by a lumber truck in 1979. Since then, her readings come to her in song, though she doesn’t always sing. She says she has helped find more than 5,000 missing people, many of whom were children.
On her Web site, www.singingpsychic.com, she lays claim to many other predictions that have come true, from Super Bowl and Oscar winners, to terrorist attacks.
She has been on The Alice Morning Show on 105.9 FM, “Good Morning America,” “The David Letterman Show” and “The Howard Stern Show.”
While we had her on the phone, we thought we’d find out more.
She predicted the Broncos will not go to the Super Bowl this year, but probably next year. She said they might win on Oct. 22, but might lose on Oct. 29, when they play the Colts. And yes, the Broncos did win last Sunday against the Browns 17-7.
Lucky guess or divine power?
She also sang about her encounters with Elvis and Anna Nicole Smith’s son.

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
