Britney Spears is an “emotional wreck,” and she blames the paparazzi for it.
In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer to be aired Thursday on the “Today” show and “Dateline,” the 24-year-old singer talks about her bouts with the paparazzi as well as her marriage to Kevin Federline.
ON HER MARRIAGE Spears said it is not true that Federline is living in the basement, as some media have reported and insisted she loves her husband.
“He helps me. He has to. I’m (an) emotional wreck right now,” she said.
ON THE PAPARAZZI The paparazzi have “crossed the line a little bit” by showing her in private moments, she said.
The singer said she feels like a target. Asked what she would say to the paparazzi as individuals, she says: “You have a life. And if you don’t, you have to realize that we’re people and that we ... just need privacy and we need our respect. And those are things that you have to have as a human being.”
ON HER PARENTING SKILLS Spears also defended her parenting skills, saying, “I know I’m a good mom.” She drew criticism earlier this year when she was photographed with her infant son, Sean, sitting on her lap as she drove. She cautions against judging her.
“I did it with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I drive,” the Louisiana native said. “We’re country.” asap

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will.

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
