The moon is the sign of saying no -- and that's Virgo. When you say no to one thing, you're really saying yes to something else -- like organization, simplicity and elegance. Saying no allows you to concentrate without distraction, but that's not all. Saying no brings so many rewards that you'll wonder why you don't say it more often.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Though you set out to do something great, the thing you want to do isn't so fantastic after all. Then, greatness is stumbled upon on your way to doing something quite ordinary.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). There's charm in the rambling, unfocused quality of this day. You may find yourself on a circuitous route to your goal, but at least this allows you precious time with your thoughts.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). There's an old Hungarian saying: "The believer is happy, the doubter is wise." You prove this theory wrong today when you achieve happiness by believing wholeheartedly in your own wisdom.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Family stories are passed around. They don't cast the characters in a very favorable light. Do damage control -- stick up for your loved ones even if you're not sure they deserve it.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Since each new person you meet offers a new perspective, meeting new people always makes you see yourself a little differently. This could inspire you to make a subtle change in your manner.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 13). Your many gifts and skills merge into one powerful purpose at the start of your new year. Look for a different source for your main income in December. Family visits bring happy news and good bonding experiences in January. A chance to perform comes in February, and you're fantastic. You work and play particularly well with Leo and Libra people. Lucky numbers are: 8, 3, 22, 40 and 17.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Regarding your project, you've theorized and philosophized all you can. Now what's needed is life experience. Take your goods to the real world, and you'll find out all you need to learn.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your modesty is so natural that it's difficult for you to understand those who continually posture and puff themselves up. This afternoon, the arrogant will come back down to earth, which you'll find deeply delightful.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your attraction quotient is high. Tonight brings the opportunity to meet someone intensely engrossing, but you must get out for this to occur. Such a person won't come knocking on your door.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). It's hard to say no when someone desperately wants you to agree. But that's what you do now, and your reputation as an independent thinker is still intact.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Usually you would avoid that melancholy person whose attitude is a drag for anyone within 10 feet. But there's something to be gained from the wit of a pessimist. And your optimism can turn any situation around.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Your gift from the stars is mental clarity amid bedlam. Others would be wise to add you to their team, invite you to their party or, even better, propose to you.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You might be tempted to hoist the black flag and tell the group what you really think, but first consider how this will be received. It's probably better to find a diplomatic Libra to help you make your point.

ASTROLOGICAL POEM: My mentor, Joyce Jillson, was a great astrologer and brilliant thinker. One project we were working on together before she passed in 2004 was a series of love poems. Joyce spoke and sang them over music, and the result was quite mesmerizing. Since they were never published, I thought you might enjoy reading parts of them. Here is the one for Aries:

Make the law, break the law, draw the lines then color outside

Fire with fire, explosive desire contained inside the chaos of your mind.

Love at first sight, drawn to the light and all that's irresistible or forbidden

Aries native, dedicated to opening the windows into heaven.

Icons and ions, bygones be bygones, every particle of you is charged and new

Record-breaking heat waves, stock cars and speedways, risks worth taking (and risks not worth taking, too).

Swans and swashbucklers, ramblers and rumblers, pirates and creatures of mars

Warriors and pioneers, adventurers and musketeers, thinkers like Da Vinci and Descartes.

Once in a lifetime happens every Aries day.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Chris Noth has that charisma Scorpio men are famous for. Whether he is Det. Mike Logan on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" or Mr. Big on "Sex and the City," there's a dangerous edge to his Scorpio presence. This year he lends his charm to the drama "Frame of Mind."

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
