The Scorpio sun activates our awareness of the inner workings of life. Subtle triggers for certain behaviors suddenly seem obvious. Under the current Libra moon, this knowledge is well applied to relationships. By understanding what motivates one another, we can get what we want more easily, employing the laws of reciprocity. ARIES (March 21-April 19). If you don't have a passport, get one! Whether or not you travel to a foreign land before the year is up, you'll at least be changing your mindset to a global mode. This expansion touches every part of your life. TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It's like you're walking around in a pleasant dream. People meet your requests with a smile. You do your work without really noticing and enter rooms wondering what you were looking for. GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You make a priceless discovery. If you were more selfish, you'd keep it to yourself and benefit privately from the find. But you're an altruist, and so you pass on what you know. CANCER (June 22-July 22). While you're taking action to improve your appearance today, consider this: Over the years, your face has changed to reflect the emotions you feel most often. It's within your power to feel beautiful. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Though you try your darndest to get your way, the larger part of you knows it's not really about you. With an empowered peripheral vision, you sense the needs of the other beings around you. TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 16). Your internal motivation this year is like a space-bound rocket. Once you break out of your own atmosphere, the gravity and resistance you'll experience is greatly reduced. Putting yourself on foreign soil and around new people is a key to your success. December's adventure is romantic. Pisces and Aries people are loving supporters. Your lucky numbers are: 30, 22, 51, 25 and 14. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Get down to business. The kind of clients and customers you want are looking for someone with passion for the work in question. The more enthusiasm you can drum up, the more money you'll make. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). It's true you were born with certain gifts and limitations. But ultimately, you decide who you are. The afternoon brings people who don't know you -- a chance to play around with your new personality. SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You are attracted to the kind of relationships that have no rhyme or reason whatsoever. You like someone, and they like you. Chalk it up to chemistry, and have a good time. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Did you know that the iron in your blood is more than 15 billion years old? It's the same iron that's in plants and rocks and everything else on the earth. You feel an increased sense of connection to it all now. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). To make things simpler, your choices come in twos. Coffee or tea? Work or play? Glasses or laser treatment? And the best part of all is that you can put off choosing for another day. AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You may find yourself in possession of things that don't belong to you or information that's none of your business. What fun! Of course, the only reason this occurs is because you emanate trustworthiness. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). As a water sign, you intuitively understand the concept of soft power, the greatest power there is. By remaining fluid you can go anywhere you need to go. There's always a path for you. ASTROLOGICAL POEM: The other day I ran across a file of unpublished poetry. My mentor and friend the great astrologer Joyce Jillson was collaborating with me on a spoken-word project before she died. She recited the following over music, and the result was quite mesmerizing. Here is a poetic message to Cancer. As the fourth sign of the zodiac, you are the guardian of all things close to us. You represent what matters, what we live for, what we could not be without And what we take for granted all too often. You are complex as the ocean. You move people like the waves. And at times you've been passed over. Theyíll come back again to celebrate you like the home they never had. Like the home you'll always be. Like home. Defender of the earth, protector of family, your intuition waxes and wanes but your beauty never fades. You are the sign of longevity. (Everything you learn it's like you knew it already) Ancient soul, of course you know. Of course you know. CELEBRITY PROFILES: Sometimes a name says it all. In the case of Scorpio film director Martin Scorsese, when his name is attached to a project, no explanation is needed. The thought-provoking Bob Dylan documentary "No Direction Home" and now the explosive big-screen extravaganza "The Departed" both demonstrate Scorsese's visionary genius. The esteemed Academy will recognize this genius, too. | | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
