The sun enters Sagittarius and brings with it all kinds of "ex" words, like exhilaration, expansion and excess! The "ex" word (besides meaning a person with whom you once had a relationship) is a prefix meaning "out" or "away." That's precisely where we want to go under the Sagittarian sun. Out, out and away!!!

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Ever the optimist, you habitually amplify the positive and mute the negative traits of others. Doing this at work will help you rise through the ranks. Doing this with yourself will help you grow in the ways you wish to.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The odd man is not "out" -- he's never been more in. Dare to disagree. You could be privy to special information or invited into an exclusive situation because you're so different from the rest.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Being overdramatic has its time and place, and you find both today. It's not because you think drama makes you look interesting and cool. It's because sometimes it's fun and liberating to overreact.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). The omens indicate you're in a shopping mood. It's true you need a few items for around the house, but that's not what you're in the mood to shop for. Anything on sale is fair game.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). It's a glorious mess of news and opportunities now, especially having to do with your inner circle. You can fully dive into life if you're free from guilt. If you're still feeling guilty about something, it's time to put it to rest.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 22). You seek an open, interactive environment where you can share ideas, excitement and wild fantasies with kindred souls. You find what you're looking for in a matter of weeks. Projects take off in the spring. Dates are adventurous even if you're dating someone you've been married to for years. Scorpio and Libra people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 3, 22, 25 and 35.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). The morning is hectic, which makes the afternoon silence all the more intimidating. Shouldn't you be doing something? The answer is no. For those precious moments, just be — they won't last.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your intellect is turned up to 10. The best part is you don't have to use words like "indubitably" to prove it. The quieter you are, the more intelligent people assume you are.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your luck involves people at a distance. It's a good time to post a wish list online to see whether a stranger buys you an item from it. This is the modern form of a message in a bottle tossed into the ocean.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Your people get used to seeing you in one capacity and interacting with you in one way. But you're multifaceted! Shake it up. Change your "costume" or "setting" in order to be noticed anew.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). A fabulous union promotes prosperity, but a bad match will do the opposite. Mostly, your relationships fall somewhere in between. Add one new friend to the mix on the fabulous, prosperous side.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Fear takes over when you're too mentally lax. Master your mind. Don't follow it down a dark alley. Steer your thoughts with your will toward cheerful, lightness and wonder.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Most of your loved ones need help from time to time, but perpetual need is just a bad habit. If you stop being the savior, the victim may stop being the victim. Help others help themselves.

ASTROLOGICAL POEM: My mentor, Joyce Jillson, was a great astrologer and highly creative woman who worked in many forms. One project we were working on together before she passed was a series of love poems, one for each astrological sign. She spoke these over music. Here is a poem to Scorpio.

Rockford files, Roswell sighting, astronauts satelliting

quantum physics, hyper space, gravitation, cosmic grace

Houdini, Kundalini, magic maker, heart breaker

earth shakes, Lazarus wakes, number 8, regenerate

Krick and Watson, DNA, secrets of life and energy

Himalayan mountains, Marianas trench, Hippocratic oath of medicine

baying wolf, song of the moon

night life, love life, tryst at noon

Triple Crown, impossible feats, movie stars, daredevil leaps

Out of ashes, into skies, Scorpio will like a phoenix rise.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Scarlett Johansson traipses across the silver screen to a mesmerizing effect. A cusp baby, she has planets in both friendly Sagittarius and sizzling Scorpio. She's sexy and accessible all at once! Famed directors like Woody Allen and Brian De Palma have cast her to perfection in their movies. I predict Johansson's relationship with fellow actor Josh Hartnett will heat up with an engagement.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew

Is Everybody In?

Ms. Giles currently lives in Colorado where she stars in her own private reality show. She writes aphoristic accounts of her life, taken completely out of context, and embellished with characters and situations disguised to resemble something close to interesting.
