JULY 4TH FIREWORKS SHOW ONE OF LARGEST IN NORTHERN COLORADO
They’ll light up the skies June 23 after the Gretchen Wilson concert. Then, on the Fourth of July, they’ll really boom after the Big and Rich concert.
No, it’s not the bulls or rodeo clowns — although a bull lighting up the sky would be a sight to see — it’s the biggest fireworks show in northern Colorado.
“It’s a great way to let people know the Stampede has started,” said Justin Watada, director of marketing for the Greeley Independence Stampede. “The last time we did it at the opening was two years ago.”
Stonebreaker Fireworks Co. of Denver is in charge of the show. The June show should last between 15-20 minutes and the Fourth of July show should last about 30 minutes.
Blue, green, red, purple, gold and silver firework blasts are sure to drop a few jaws throughout the Greeley area. As in years past, KFKA-AM 1310 will play synchronized music to the fireworks show on the Fourth.
Spectators are sure to ooh and ahh at the lights illuminating from the Bill Hames Carnival, but the biggest reaction is from the lights being displayed above the carnival.
So don’t forget your lawn chairs and mosquito repellent as you make your way to Island Grove Regional Park or to your favorite viewing spot to catch the spectacular view of the largest fireworks shows in northern Colorado.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
