In mythology, the little crab we call "Cancer" earned her constellation through her willingness to protect her beloved goddess, Hera. For her sacrifice in the battle against Hercules, she was cast into a place of honor in the heavens. As the moon transits from Cancer to Leo, we're reminded that anything worth having is worth protecting.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). You won't be restless if you dwell among the mysteries and beauties of life today. Scorpio people live there most of the time -- hang out with one, and you'll learn via osmosis.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). History could repeat, but it doesn't have to. Recognize the pattern early, and walk away. Then, pat yourself on the back for the emotional muscle tone you've developed since last time.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You're no "yes" person -- but you're no "no" person, either. You do what you do. Your strong sense of who you are and what you have to contribute gives you a place among those you admire.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). When you've run out of questions, a Libra reintroduces doubt and wonder. Knowing everything is overrated anyhow. Your sense of discovery will invigorate every area of your life.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). There are no small jobs, only small mindsets. Today's most satisfying action could be pushing a broom. Happiness is knowing that your efforts have helped people, touched their lives and made a difference.
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (JUNE 27). This year is the magic wand that turns your environment into a place of beauty. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). When you're not in the mood for a certain high-maintenance person, they appear. The stars reward patience. If you can put up with this person, you'll work magic with yourself.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). It's a basic human need to be acknowledged -- one that you feed so well in others and often neglect in yourself. It's not arrogant to take note of your talents.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You know you're in the right line of work when it's hard to distinguish business from pleasure. People around you spark to your playful imagination, especially Aquarius.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There is a difference between the path of least resistance and a path with no obstacles at all. The former allows you to flow toward your purpose. The latter flows toward someone else's purpose.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Someone tells you "don't change a thing." This is an impossible order, but of all the signs, you're able to keep everything nicely in line today. The status quo is lovely for now.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). What would you do without those "wild-card people" who throw you for a loop, making your life anything but boring? So don't waste time complaining or feigning surprise. Just tilt your head back and laugh.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). There's a pessimistic saying that no good deed goes unpunished, but as long as your motives are pure, your assistance will be well-received, especially if you are helping yourself.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Fantastic Fantasia Barrino won the third season of "American Idol" with her Cancerian sass, soulfulness and, ultimately, vulnerability. When this single mom opens her mouth to sing, she opens our hearts and ears. Cancer people don't "do" vulnerability often, so when they do it has a powerful effect. I see Barrino finding her greatest success after she has a second child.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
