It seems in my boring, generally sedate life, that I have an occasional occurrence of finding something wonderful or exciting that I would call a near-life experience. Due to the fact that I usually don't continue to have these events take place, and as infrequent as they are. I would say that I'm failing to fully live my life or even have what you'd call a life. The days do slip by one after another, with not much worthy of writing about, and it is only rare moments of clarity that inspire me to write at all. And it's not really that I am complaining, I am the master of my own destiny, and if I really wanted more, I suppose I would be out there trying to get it. I was just contemplating this on my 45th birthday today. Birthdays usually make me quite reflective of my past. And although sometimes I want much more than I have, I fail to put out the effort to achieve these goals so far.
So if you find yourself wandering around, as I find myself doing occasionally without much focus or drive. Maybe it will give you comfort to know there is someone else out there, as lost as you are. Or even better it will inspire you to achieve the greatness that you're capable of. Who knows what tomorrow brings, and tomorrow is promised to no one.
So happy birthday to me and anyone else born on this day, and hello to the first day of summer.
P.S. mom, thanks for the Chinese food, and the card, it was awesome.
A book for you to read.... Written by punkhorror on 2006-06-22 07:49:05 The whole theme ot the book Stranger Than Fiction by Chuck Palahinuk (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) is those spaces in life where we really live. It is a decent book. |

| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will.

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
