British Web site traces roots of American celebrities |

Ever wonder about the ancestors of your favorite celebrities?
Now a British Web site — http://www.ancestry.co.uk — can help you find them. The site has launched more than 100 million U.S. immigration records from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, showing a list of passengers on voyages from the British Isles to the United States between 1820 and 1960.
The records show date, departure port, destination, age, nationality, occupation, accompanying family members and purpose of travel, among other criteria.
EXAMPLES
— Tom Cruise's great-great-grandfather, Dylan Henry Mapother, emigrated to Louisville, Ky., in 1850 from Flint, Wales.
— Halle Berry's grandmother, Nellie Dicken, was 9 months old when she sailed with her family from Liverpool, England, in 1912 onboard the Merion to settle in Philadelphia.
— Donald Trump's mother, Mary MacLeod, traveled from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, to America onboard The Transylvania in 1935.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
