Although there is a lot of stuff to love about the Fourth of July, like getting some time off work and grilling with the family, it just wouldn’t be Independence Day without the fireworks. Fire danger is high around the state, so catch one of the many professional shows around the area rather than put on your own. That way none of us will go up in flames.
Fort Collins The Fourth of July downtown celebration will feature free live music and stuff to do for the entire day leading up to the fireworks show at City Park. There will be two stages downtown, beer gardens, a petting zoo, kids games, food vendors, booth vendors and plenty of grass to get the family a great seat for the big show.
There will be a free shuttle service available to and from the fireworks display from the Downtown Transit Center and CSU Moby Arena. Rides begin at 5:30 p.m. taking people to City Park, 1599 City Park Drive. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:35 p.m.
For the first time in more than a decade, the Fort Collins symphony, along with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, will perform patriotic favorites as a prelude to the fireworks display over City Park Lake.
The celebration downtown goes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entertainment at City Park is set to start at 6:30 p.m., lasting until the fireworks are done at 10:30 p.m. For more information visit downtownfortcollins.com.
Greeley The Stampede/9News Independence Day Parade starts at 9 a.m. and runs on 10th Avenue from 19th Street to Fifth Street. Streetside spots go fast, so get there early. A fireworks show will follow the Big & Rich concert (around 10 p.m.) at Island Grove Regional Park, 600 N. 14th Ave.
The Greeley Country Club also puts on its own show for members only, although the show will be visible around the area. That show is expected to start around 9:45 p.m.
Loveland The Fourth of July celebration will be at the Hammond Amphitheater in North Lake Park. There will be free, live entertainment, including Wendy Woo and the Woo Crew from 3-5 p.m., The Indulgers from 5:15-7:15 p.m. and the Loveland Concert Band at 8 p.m. leading up the fireworks show.
For more information, contact the Loveland Museum and Gallery at 962.2410.
Windsor Kenny Cordova and the Olde Rock Band will perform at Eastman Park Drive starting at 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The fireworks show will start at dusk over Windsor Lake, 100 N. 5th St.
Estes Park Check out the Arabian Horse Show starting at 9 a.m. at the Estes Park Fairgrounds running from July 1-4. On the Fourth, before you see the fireworks show, check out the Coolest Car Show and see vintage cars from the 1920s and beyond at Bond Park in the center of downtown. The cost is $2 per person or $10 for the whole family.
The fireworks show is free and can be seen throughout the Estes Park area. The fireworks are shot above Lake Estes. The show will start at dusk, about 9:30 p.m. | Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. |

| | "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." | |
| | We're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!)
We call it insight, you call it what you will. | |

| | What is up FoCo?
I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
