St. Martin’s is shipping 1.25 million copies of “Twelve Sharp,” so I don’t think the publisher is really looking for my help to get the word out about Janet Evanovich’s latest comic tour de force.
That’s a big enough first printing to pretty much guarantee Evanovich a Top 10 sales spot for the year.
Fans of the adventures of Stephanie Plum, hapless Trenton, N.J., bounty hunter torn between two hunky bad boys, get what they want out of this installment: lots of sharp dialogue; plenty of comic mayhem; and just enough smoldering moments between Stephanie and boyfriend No. 1, Joe Morelli, Trenton cop, and Stephanie and boyfriend No. 2, Ranger, bounty hunter extraordinaire.
Expect to gulp down “Twelve Sharp” faster than Stephanie would scarf down a Tastykake. Expect to laugh. Expect to sigh. Expect to learn a lot about Ranger’s past.
Expect to think impure thoughts about Ranger, then Morelli. Or Morelli, then Ranger. Your call.
And once you’ve come to, expect to wonder about these questions:
This new Ranger we’re seeing — why does he talk so much?

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
