Greeley artist Judith Meyers will be honored with a retrospective art show at the Union Colony Civic Center.
Meyers has lived in the Greeley area since 1964 and has worked in several different areas of art.
The show “Celebration and Memories” will provide a look at all the different forms of art Meyers has worked with over the years, including watercolors, quilt making and paper cutting.
Meyers first started working with watercolors at a young age, then she began to experiment with quilting in the 1970s and 1980s. But it wasn’t until Meyers began working with paper cutting that she really found her niche. Meyers is a member of the National Paper Cutters Guild and has 25 years of experience paper cutting.
She will display works she made using paper cutting as well as more 100 seasonal ornaments made using the technique.
Katy Luepschen, the public arts coordinator for the city of Greeley, thinks this show will appeal to a wide audience.
“I think this show is for anybody that is interested in really fine crafts, she has water colors that are framed and two dimensional, quilts and paper cut pieces. She is also going to have a big display of ornaments on Christmas trees, it should be a very beautiful display and very seasonal,” Luepschen said.

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
