Women, prepare to be wooed. Men, prepare to be wowed.

The Ten Tenors are coming to the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins for a 5-night stay, Nov. 28–Dec. 1. Their Australian accents, sexy demure and talented singing voices are enough to make anyone swoon.

Calling from Ontario, Canada, Ten Tenor singer Stewart Morris laughed heartily when asked if the Ten Tenors take lessons from fellow Aussies, Thunder from Down Under, on being sexy. “We probably should,” he said.

“It is very hard to do and not laugh at yourself. When you’re up there singing with gusto about romance and passion, we have a hard time,” Morris said. “For Australians, it’s not like us to be too serious. It really takes concentration, but the girls like it, so we just think, there’s a room full of girls out there, you gotta be a sexy man.”

The Ten Tenors sing everything from pop to opera and some songs are German, Italian and French. Morris doesn’t know several different languages, just the basic words needed to sing opera. “Love, longing, dying, happiness; those words pop up a lot,” he said.

Morris enjoyed music in general as a youngster and found an opportunity in high school to audition for “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”. He loved how “Joseph” has a fun story and makes fun of itself.

“I like how it’s in a ‘70s context and we get to wear psychedelic clothing. And there’s just great music, simple and catchy. It’s like a party on stage.”

The audience’s reaction always gives Morris a thrill. Especially, he said, “when we perform songs like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and then switch to ‘Nessun dorma’, the crowd gets a frenzied vibe, and then we completely change cues, and we get an even bigger response. We cross genres and I like that people can really enjoy that.”
Morris also loves grandeur in his personal life.

“There’s a rule in my house that if you’re going to have a party, it must be a spectacle. Once I had a dummy with a watermelon for a head and played ‘Ride of the Valkyries’. I came out of the fog and sliced off the head. It was awesome.”

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
