Winter deals
More
Even though it’s that time of year where new spring styles are making their debut, don’t turn your back on winter stuff yet.
It’s the perfect time to nab a killer deal on those Rossignol skis or The North Face jacket you have been eyeing for months.
Chances are you won’t have to look far to find a sporting goods store that is offering winter apparel and outdoor equipment for reduced prices.
Mountain Shop staffer Seth Murphy said new and used skis, as well as snowboards, snowshoes, outerwear, hats and gloves are all on sale now until the store runs out of these items.
“It’s gotta go to make room for stuff for the boating season,” he said.
Locally owned, The Mountain Shop at 632 Mason St. in Fort Collins, specializes in back-country skiing, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing.
Murphy said down jackets normally $160 are 40 percent off right now.
“That’s better than my store discount,” he said.
Demo skis, normally $600 just for the skis are now $300 to $400 for the skis and bindings. New skis are discounted 20 percent to 30 percent.
Judy Garnhart, manager of clothing at Garretson’s, 3817 10th St. in Greeley, said winter coats, jackets, fleeces and sweaters are currently 50 percent off.
“It has been going pretty fast because of spring breaks,” she said. “We have been really busy.”
But Garnhart warns people not to wait too long because items often sell out at the end of the season.
“I always say buy at the beginning to get a better choice,” she said.

FullMetal Alchemist (48)

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.

Ravings, rantings, and gibberish. (36)

DrewWhat is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew
