The denver nuggets got an answer, both from the NBA, and from the Philedelphia 76ers. First, the Nuggets and Knicks debacle. The hard foul was completely un-called for. But the cheap shot Melo threw out, and then running away is both cowardly and sad. It scary to see what is happening to America's greatest commodity; yes sports. From the gridion to the hardfloor, players are changing. Thank God there are still some good stories and excellent players out there. Dwayne Wade of the Heat, Joe Mauer from the MN Twins, L.T. from the Chargers. Players who care just as much about the intergrity of the game as their communities and themselves.
Now on to the Nuggies. Not a fan of them, but now? The Answer is coming to town. Before Wade jumped from Marquette to the League, Mr. Iverson was my favorite player. Yeah he had the same background as many of the other NBA players. But he had something many of the now divas of the NBA don't. An unreachable tenacity to play his heart out game-in game-out. Sure he had problmes off court, a lot of them, but once he stepped on the hardfloor, he played everygame like it was his last. And, he's carried the 76ers for 10 years, it looks like this year it finally was just too large of a load. The Sixers stink. But the Answer is coming to CO, and everyone in CO should be cautiously optimistic.
The only problem is can Melo take a back seat to the Answer? Probably not, and perhaps he shouldn't. But Iverson has been THE man in Philly for 10 years, it is going to be hard to pass that rock up. Maybe Melo's scardey-cat chaep shot was for the best. Gives Ivy 15 games to be the man, and get into Karl's gameplan; once the suspension is up, be ready for anything from a Championship Title to utter debacle and bickering.

I think it will interesting to see how everything plays out for sure. Melo and Iverson are both used to being the star, so we will see if they can get along and play nice.

What is up FoCo? I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks. Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know! --Drew

FullMetal Alchemist"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth."

3 Wise-asses (15)

3wiseassesWe're not that bright, even though in our own little world, we're geniuses. We like 80s hair bands and one-hit wonders, but among us we have respectable tastes, too. Metallica, Iron Maiden, U2. Pursuit of all things trivial is a lifestyle, not just a game. We like some sports, love other sports, and can find something to say about anything. We watch TV and movies and we've read a book or two, even a few classics (Yes, Classic Comics count!) We call it insight, you call it what you will.
