 Mario Lopez is tap dancing his way onto the Miss America stage.
The actor and "Dancing With the Stars" runner-up will host this year's pageant in Las Vegas, event organizers said Wednesday.
"I'm honored. I think it's going to be great," Lopez told The Associated Press from Los Angeles. Country Music Television Inc.'s officials in Nashville, Tenn., made the announcement, saying they're excited about Lopez's popularity, experience hosting other pageants and his "undeniable charm." The pageant will air Jan. 29 from the Aladdin Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Lopez, best known for starring as A.C. Slater on "Saved by the Bell", said though he can dance, he's not the best singer. So he won't be serenading the winner with the "There She Is, Miss America" theme.
"I really don't sing," Lopez said. "I like to sing, but I don't sing well."

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
Right now I am just trying to get to know Colorado and FoCo better. Mostly in order to find the best drink specials on each day that ends in Y. So if you know where I can get a cheap drunk on, let me know!
