50 Cent is searching for new influences |

 When you think of 50 Cent, think "Dreamgirls."
The multiplatinum rapper told asap he's listening to the music of Motown while recording his new album, which he says should be out by spring.
"Right now, music is being influenced by some of the things I've done on my first album," he said in a recent interview. "It's a lot more aggressive content on the street. I see a lot more artists using the mixtape circuit as a form of promotion.
"I've got to do something different, I've got to find new influences. ... I've got to stay away from hip-hop music while I'm creating this hip-hop music.
He's recorded about 30 songs so far for the new album in studios in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, but plans to trim down the track list to 14 at most for release.
"I recorded with (Dr.) Dre last night. I'm working," he said. "I'm excited about it. I feel like it'll definitely change the momentum and mood of the perception of hip-hop music."

I am a recent college graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead. After recieving my B.A. in English and Mass Communications this past August I moved down to Colorado.
I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners, and heavy metal. My hobbies include reading and writing, music, movies, and getting drunk. Some of my favorite contemporary authors include Bret Easton Ellis, Chuck Palahniuk, and Kurt Vonnegut. My top movies are anything directed by Kubrick. I enjoy listening to anything that rocks.
